1 Messi reached 84 goals, one short of Gerd Muller’s record as Barcelona 5-1 victory over Atletico Bilbao in La Liga.

The Barcelona FC star has been superb scoring more and more goals and now no one can stop him reaching and breaking Gerd Muller’s record. Messi scored two goals in Barcelona 5-1 victory over Atletico Bilbao at Camp Nou as the La Liga leaders add goal count to 43 goals.

The Argentine currently has score 84 goals in single calendar year one goal shoot of 85 goals by Gerd Muller in 1972. He was rested in midweek King's Cup match against Alaves but he is still on course to break this long standing record. Two goals adds his La Liga goals tally to 21 for La Liga this season top scorer as Cristiano Ronaldo lags behind with 13 goals.

In November he passed Pele’s 75 goals record in 1958 though the former Brazil striker does not recognize Messi as one of great footballer yet, comparing Messi and Neymar and singled out Neymar as the best footballer.

Who can stop Messi in next five matches before end of calendar year?

What will the next big record for Messi to pursue and break?
