0 Champions League: Real Madrid score late goals to beat Giant killer Apoel 3-0, Benzema brace.

Karim Benzema missed first clear chance to put Madrid ahead but later scored a brace.
Real Madrid had to wait till 74 minutes to score first goal against defending Apoel. Madrid started with three strikers Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain and succeeded to make 28 shots with 8 shots on goals against zero shots for Apoel Nicosia. First clear chance to break the deadlock came on 33rd minute when Karim Benzema missed chance to put Madrid in front, wasting superb effort by Cristiano Ronaldo as he send the ball above the goal post.

Jose Mourinho has been known for making superb tactical switch; In 64th minute he replaced Gonzalo Higuaín and Fábio Coentrão with Kaka and Marcelo. In 74th Kaka set up Benzema for 1st goal, the two substitutes Marcelo and Kaka combined, Marcelo set up Kaka for second goal. Ozil did tremendous work and set up Benzema for easy third goal in 90th minute. In took Real Madrid 15 minutes to score three, the first goal were very crucial.

The result is a big blow for giant killers, Apoel Nicosia have surprised Lyon, Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk in previous game and looked like they will once again managed to pull another surprise before being undone on 74th minute. Now it would be easy for Madrid on second leg in April 4th to finish the job and set a possible el classico if Barcelona beat Bayern Munich in another Quarter final champions league draw on 28 March 2012

0 Real Madrid overcome Real Zaragoza with 3-1 win to go seven points clear at La liga summit after Barcelona drew 0-0 with Villarreal.

Real Madrid responded well to Copa del Rey exit with fight back from one goal behind to win the La liga tie against Real Zaragoza 3-1 at the Bernabeu, thanks to goals from Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Mezil Ozil.

Earlier Angel Lafita put Zaragoza infront at 11th minute before the special one club cruise to comfortable win and goes seven points clear at La Liga summit. La Liga champions, Barcelona has the opportunity to cut Real Madrid lead back to form five points but they failed to beat struggling Villarreal. Real Madrid stay top with 52 points and four more goals difference than Barcelona at second place with 45 points after 20 matches.

Man of the match
Villarreal goalkeeper, Diego Lopez inspired his club and he was top man of the match and goal.com gave him 8.5 points. Diego Lopez denied Lionel Messi and his accomplices to earn the deserved one point against UEFA champions. Though the host was doing better in most position had better position 35% than most team against Barcelona.

0 Real Madrid's four consecutive transfer records


Real Madrid smashed their own player transfer fee record after signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United. The Club have broke player transfer fee records for the four consecutive times in the past ten years. AC Milan is the only other club to have smashed transfer fees records four times by signing Juan Schiaffino from Peñarol, (1954), Ruud Gullit from PSV Eindhoven (1987), Jean-Pierre Papin from Marseille (1992) and Gianluigi Lentini from Torino,(1992).


The four galacticos who smashed records are Luís Figo from Barcelona (2000) at £ 37,000,000, Zinedine Zidane from Juventus (2001)at £ 46,000,000, Kaká from AC Milan at £ 56,000,000 and Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United (2009)at £ 80,000,000


Real Madrid was knocked out of champion league last week by Olympic Lyon after loosing 2-1 on aggregate. The Club have won 9 champion league trophies (1956,1957,1958,1959,1960,1966,1998,2000,2002), last one was in 2002 under Vicente Del Bosque, the current Spain coach.

Real Madrid cruised to a 5-1 victory over Toronto FC in a friendly game in Canada. Raul Gonzalez score twice for La liga club as Cristiano ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Arjen Robbien score one each. The Major League Soccer Toronto got their consolation gola on 75th minute though Gabe Gala

The game attract 22,000 fans who enjoyed beautiful display by the galacticos as Kaka and Xabi Alonso make debut.

The galacticos proved a move superior powerhouse when Real Madrid captain score his second of the day and 3-0 lead for Florentina Perez’s club. Total domination of the galaticos continues with 91% to 9% possession for Real Madrid. The France international, Karim Benzema added fourth goal with easy tap-in followed great work by Negrado. TFC fan went mad on 75 minutes cheering as Geba Gala beat substitute Dudek to register first goal for Toronto FC against the world most expensive team. It was like a "world cup winning goal" for the fans. Arjen Robben sealed the 5-I score on 85th minute after impressive run to shed TFC defenders.
