1 Messi reached 84 goals, one short of Gerd Muller’s record as Barcelona 5-1 victory over Atletico Bilbao in La Liga.

The Barcelona FC star has been superb scoring more and more goals and now no one can stop him reaching and breaking Gerd Muller’s record. Messi scored two goals in Barcelona 5-1 victory over Atletico Bilbao at Camp Nou as the La Liga leaders add goal count to 43 goals. 

The Argentine currently has score 84 goals in single calendar year one goal shoot of 85 goals by Gerd Muller in 1972. 5 AC Milan held defending champions Barcelona at San Siro, keeping Messi waiting for his 50th champions league goal.

AC Milan held Barcelona 0-0 in Champions league first leg quarter final.Alexis Sanchez penalty claim was turned down by the referee and Lionel Messi goal dissalowed for offside. AC Milan clear chances were squandered by Robinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The San Siro club playing style proved to be tough for Barcelona as they managed to stop Barcelona from scoring.

1 Fernando Torres score ends 25hrs 41 minutes drought as he score two goals and assist two in FA cup

Chelsea eliminated Birmingham City in the fifth FA cup round but needed two games to complete the job. Fernando Torres end almost 26 hrs in 152 days goals drought scoring two goals and setting up two easy goals for Salomon Kalou and Meireles. Torres has been doing all the things right apart from his famous goal miss, he move well and pass the very well to team mates but the goals were not coming. 

Roberto Di Matteo make seven changes from start line-up for champions league to rest some player for big game against Manchester City, Benfica and give other player some minutes on the pitch. 

Gary Cahill open the score line, scoring his first goal for Chelsea. Torres picked up Kalou after fantastic run, Kalou well controlled the ball and send it to the right side of the keeper to make the score 2-0. 

Torres added the third on 67 minutes ending the drought and may be signal his new start to keep pace with other top scorers in Europe. In 85 minutes Torres scored his second, fourth for Chelsea with flicking Raul Meireles’s corner with nice header. Two Leicester City’s goals from Jermaine Beckford and Ben Marshall sandwich Chelsea fourth goal. Another Torres run, this time on the left side of the pitch, he unselfishly set up Meireles who score Chelsea fifth and book a visit to Wembley stadium. 

The win means 100% record for Di Matteo since he took over from Andres Villa Boas. The question will be does the blue have enough to beat Manchester City and start closing the gap with Arsenal. Di Matteo have a lot to plan for Champions league date with Benfica and weigh his election for every game.

0 Real Madrid overcome Real Zaragoza with 3-1 win to go seven points clear at La liga summit after Barcelona drew 0-0 with Villarreal.

Real Madrid responded well to Copa del Rey exit with fight back from one goal behind to win the La liga tie against Real Zaragoza 3-1 at the Bernabeu, thanks to goals from Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Mezil Ozil.

Earlier Angel Lafita put Zaragoza infront at 11th minute before the special one club cruise to comfortable win and goes seven points clear at La Liga summit. La Liga champions, Barcelona has the opportunity to cut Real Madrid lead back to form five points but they failed to beat struggling Villarreal. Real Madrid stay top with 52 points and four more goals difference than Barcelona at second place with 45 points after 20 matches.

0 Africa Cup of Nations 2012: Co-hosts Equatorial Guinea secured a $1 million bonus plus plus $20,000 for a goal in 1-0 victory against Libya

0 Premier league: Tottenham defeat Everton 2-0 to level point with United, Lennon and Assou-Ekotto super-strike

Tottenham Spurs meet in the game that was postponed on premier league opening day. Demba score the open with a nice volley over Rio Ferdinand who block Anders Lindegaard vision. The second was pretty much super strike though Cabaye went just two steps behind before hitting the ball that hit crossbar and went inn. It was similar to Lampard goal vs Germany that was denied but Howard Webb did not require goal line technology to make decision. Then came the final nail, Jones own goal as he tries to obstruct the ball from Leon Best. He accidentally deflected the ball but Anders Lindegaard was already moving the other direction.
